Learn how business, government, communities, and the nonprofit sector are coming together in innovative ways to address a wide variety of needs, from health services and child care to urban revitalization and environmental protection.On Sunday, experience the creative spirit of several local performance groups, while you enjoy cuisine representing regions of the world, and based in the tri-state area---delivered to you, center stage, in Resource Central Start Tuesday, May 6, at a breakfast plenary session sponsored by the Washington Grantmakers Host Committee, featuring a lively multi-media presentation and discussion hosted by Kojo Nnamdi of National Public Radio. Learn about the strengths and challenges of philanthropic endeavors in the region and get a sample of our all that our richly diverse community has to offer.Later in the day, choose from among exciting site sessions: visit one of the world’s greenest buildings, located on the Chesapeake Bay; explore Washington, DC, neighborhoods that are using the arts to drive community revitalization; or check out a program in Alexandria, Virginia, that is addressing the high school dropout dilemma in creative ways. Talk to community leaders across the region who are creating solutions that work—not only in their communities, but potentially in yours.
