Council on Foundations Launches New, More Robust Online Career Center

Enhanced Recruiting Features, More Job Opportunities for Professionals

Arlington, VA – The Council on Foundations has launched an enhanced Web-based career center that connects job seekers with prospective employers in the philanthropic sector. The new job board, powered by career services leader JobTarget, can be found at www.cof.org/jobs. Access is available to Council members and nonmembers alike.

The Council’s career center, like other JobTarget-powered sites, distinguishes itself from generalist job boards in a number of ways. These include:

• a highly targeted focus on employment opportunities in a certain the philanthropic sector, location, or demographic
• anonymous resume posting and job application—enabling job candidates to stay connected to the employment market while maintaining full control over their confidential information
• an advanced job alert system that notifies candidates of new opportunities matching their own pre-selected criteria
• access to industry-specific jobs—and top-quality candidates.

The new career center offers tools that help employers enhance their candidate recruitment. In addition to allowing companies to post a profile and browse the anonymous resumes free of charge, the career center automatically sends an e-mail to qualified job seekers when an employer posts a position that meets their search criteria. The new career center rates are below the industry standard for posting jobs. Council on Foundations members can post a position for 60 days for $149. Nonmembers can post a job for $299.
