Council on Foundations 2016 Interns

Toure’ Burgess, Lauren Hamilton, Lauren Wells, Mara Goldman, Sarah Stellwag, and McQuillin Murphy

The Council of Foundations’ summer interns are here!

From now through August, our interns — all currently enrolled college students from across the country — will be working in the Council’s office helping to advance the good work of our members and to expand the reach and scope of philanthropy.

In addition to gaining invaluable work experience, Council interns will participate in unique professional development opportunities including an HR: 101 course, site tours of local member foundations, one-on-one meetings with senior Council leadership, team-building workshops, and more.

We are excited to have a fantastic group with us this summer. Look out for blog posts written by, emails coming from, and meetings and phone calls this summer with:

Toure’ Burgess, Public Policy Intern

Toure’ is a rising senior and management major, legal communications minor attending Howard University who grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland. He has interned and worked in both the House and Senate and accumulated nearly two years of Hill experience.

Lauren Hamilton, Information Technology Intern

Lauren is studying for her B.B.A in International Business with a concentration in information systems at Howard University. She hails from Raleigh, North Carolina, by way of Illinois, and loves reading, shopping, and exploring new things with her friends. In the future Lauren would like to own her own health clinic and a line of BBQ sauces.

Lauren Wells, Communications & Marketing Intern

Lauren is a rising junior in the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University studying international politics with a concentration in international law, institutions, and ethics, and minoring in French. A California native, Lauren enjoys the beach, yoga, ballet, and traveling.

Sarah Stellwag, Professional Development Intern

Sarah is from Celebration, Florida, also known as the town built by Disney. She is a rising junior at Georgetown University, pursuing a dual degree in government and economics. In her free time, Sarah enjoys playing golf, reading, visiting art museums, and traveling.

McQuillin Murphy, Global Philanthropy Intern

McQuillin is back for a second summer with the Council on Foundations! Originally from Reading, Pennsylvania, he is pursuing majors in international politics and geography at Penn State University.
