The Council Mourns the Loss of Valleau Wilkie Jr.

Former Council Board Chair Valleau Wilkie Jr. passed away last week after more than 40 years of service in philanthropy. He will be remembered for his courage in serving our country during World War II and his impact on advancing the field of philanthropy.  He served as Executive Vice President of the Sid W. Richardson Foundation from 1973 until retirement in 2011.

During Wilkie’s tenure as Council Board Chair (1985-1987), membership exceeded 1,000 members for the first time. He also served as president of the Conference of Southwest Foundations, and held board positions with the Foundation Center and National Charities Information Bureau in New York.

We encourage you to view his obituary where you are also able to share your memories of Valleau as we honor his legacy.
