Defining Success in Community Initiatives: People, Place, and Policy

Last Update: Thu, December 11, 2008
Description
Place-based community initiatives are, by definition, comprehensive and ambitious. Given their large scope, how can foundations define clear expectations and measures of success? What does success look like in terms of resident participation and engagement, community capacity, and policy and system changes? Three foundations at different stages of implementing community change initiatives will discuss their experiences in defining and measuring impacts at multiple levels of people, place, and policy and engage in a discussion with the audience of effective strategies and continuing challenges.
