| Philanthropies that fundraise often avoid taking controversial positions for fear of alienating donors. However, although conventional wisdom suggests that “taking a stand” is bad for development, philanthropies that are active change agents in a community often see improvements in their fundraising. How have foundations successfully advanced activism while strengthening their relationships with donors and their communities? This session will present new data dispelling the myth that pursuing a visible activist agenda in communities hurts fundraising. In addition, leaders from different philanthropic fundraising institutions will share their fundraising success stories. | |
