| This session will explore how intermediaries are transforming philanthropy with increased collaboration across borders and why their impact far outstrips the size of their grants. Intermediaries play a crucial and long-neglected role by strategically dispersing large pools of money to groups on the ground that would otherwise not have access to such resources. They pool funds and leverage other resources and bring together leaders to guide the distribution of funds and facilitate the exchange of ideas and best practices. Intermediaries also handle difficult due diligence requirements, which often demands an understanding of the local context. This session will explore the impact of using an intermediary philanthropic strategy for global issues, such as poverty, environmental protection, and social justice. | |
