Moving the Needle: How Philanthropy Can Make Real Progress in Reducing Disparities

Last Update: Thu, December 11, 2008
Description
This session will provide foundations with examples of productive roles they can and do play in “bending the disparities trend-lines”—disparities that underlie injustice and inequality, which in turn, limit a foundation’s effectiveness. After a brief presentation on the “Pathways to Progress” framework (learn more about the concept by visiting JustPhilanthropy.org), a panel of distinguished and diverse philanthropic leaders representing different kinds of philanthropic organizations will share how they addressed disparities in social justice. The panelists will illustrate how philanthropic organizations can help reduce disparities.
