2010 FALL CONFERENCE FOR COMMUNITY FOUNDATIONS - For Veterans
FOR VETERANS

We Roll Out the Red Carpet for Our Veteran Attendees

Welcome from co-chair Teri A. Hansen

I'm Teri Hansen, president and CEO of Gulf Coast Community Foundation of Venice and a veteran of many fall conferences. You already know that the fall conference is one of the best networking and knowledge-sharing opportunities of the year. But it's also the perfect time to introduce yourself to some of the new faces in the crowd, get together with folks from your region or state, and attend a session outside your discipline. And if you've never been to one of the site sessions, make a change this year and see what makes Charlotte tick. You'll be glad you did.

Don't Miss These Programs:

Site Sessions
If you've been to a number of fall conferences but don't usually go to site sessions, make a change this year. Join one of the site sessions that will get out of the convention center and into the community to see what makes Charlotte tick! We know you'll have a good time and learn something new as well!

Advanced Legal Seminar
Join in on the preconference activities to hear the brightest legal minds in philanthropy discuss cutting-edge legal issues and keep ahead of the curve!

Top Five Tips for Veterans of the Fall Conference:

  1. Introduce yourself to new faces in the crowd. You may know lots of folks but the fresh faces may bring fresh perspectives, and conference newcomers will appreciate your outreach.

  2. Get together with folks from your region or state. This conference is a great time to reconnect with good friends!

  3. Attend a session outside your discipline. Learning something new and foreign to your experience will stretch your mind and make your conference experience richer.

  4. Visit Community Central. Exhibitors offer insights and tools you might not see elsewhere—plus you'll find beverages to keep you caffeinated and hydrated.

  5. Enjoy yourself! This is that one time of year you get to gather with people (your community foundation colleagues, of course) who know what you do and appreciate the challenges you face.
