Jeffrey Garten, Juan Trippe Professor of International Trade and Finance, Yale School of Management
Chairman, Garten Rothkopf
Dean, Yale School of Management, 1995-2005

Jeffrey Garten is the Juan Trippe Professor of International Trade, Finance and Business at the Yale School of Management and was the dean of the school from 1995 to 2005. His teaching focuses on global finance and business—examining the foundations for competitiveness in financial services and the interplay of factors that constitute the global marketplace. Garten is also chairman of Garten Rothkopf, a global consulting firm. He serves on numerous boards, including Aetna Corp., CarMax Inc., and Credit Suisse Asset Management, and is a director of the Conference Board. His experience in government ranges from serving on President Richard Nixon’s White House Council on International Economic Policy to serving as undersecretary of commerce for international trade in the first Clinton administration. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College and a Ph.D. from the School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University. He has authored numerous books and articles on finance.
