Rob Collier, President/CEO of the Council of Michigan Foundations, submitted written testimony on behalf of the Council on Foundations to a hearing of the U.S. House Ways and Means Committee Subcommittee on Select Revenue Measures, regarding the importance of reauthorizing the IRA charitable rollover provision, making it applicable for 2012. The provision was originally authorized as part of the 2006 Pension Protection Act and has been reauthorized in each subsequent year. The provision for the IRA rollover expired on December 31, 2011. To date, Congress has not extended the provision for 2012.
