Thank you for your interest in becoming more active in the Council. We appreciate your volunteer spirit and dedication to the organization. There is some information you need to know about serving on a committee before you volunteer:
A committee appointment is typically for two years, with the possibility for one additional two-year term. Appointments are made in March/April with terms beginning and ending in conjunction with the Council’s Annual Conference each year.
Committee members are expected to attend all committee meetings. Committees tend to meet at least three times per year, generally in June/July, September/October, and January/February, of which one meeting must be in person.
Committee members are expected to cover the cost of their own travel expenses when participating in in-person committee meetings.
Someone who has a deep interest in the field and the organization, a strong belief that the Council and the community it serves will benefit from your knowledge, and experience and skills as a committee volunteer.
Generally, we also expect committee members to be active and thoughtful in their service and help create candid conversations.
*Please understand we may not always be able to honor your request for a particular committee.
