Local Collaboration on Global Goals - Bridging Sectors for Collective Impact

In 2016 and 2017, more than 250 foundations gathered in five cities across the U.S. to discuss how local philanthropic collaborations can achieve shared global goals in their communities, such as ending hunger by 2030, cutting poverty in half, and creating high-quality jobs. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a universal and global agenda where philanthropy, as conveners and community leaders, can bridge sectors and inspire collective impact. What does it take to localize global goals within U.S. communities? How can the SDGs provide opportunities for U.S. philanthropy to collaborate with other sectors to more efficiently build vibrant communities? In this interactive session, participants will have the opportunity to role play the creation of a local partnerships for the SDGs and hear from leaders using this global framework to inspire new collaborations across the United States.
