We just concluded the third Council on Foundations Endowments and Finance Summit, where more than 100 foundation CEOs, CFOs, CIOs, board members and other leaders met to consider the future of the philanthropic sector. Based on post-event buzz and input from participants, it seems to have been our best Summit yet.

For charitable organizations making grants internationally, September 14, 2017 was a good day because the IRS issued Revenue Procedure 2017-53 updating previous guidance on foreign public charity equivalency determinations (“EDs”) and giving us several preferred practices related to the preparation and issuance of EDs.
