Since 1980, the Council's Grantmaker Salary and Benefits Survey has provided the sector with the most comprehensive data on staff composition and compensation in the U.S. Grantmakers rely on this annual report to plan budgets, benchmark personnel policies and practices, determine salary levels for new and existing staff, and more.
The 2018 Survey will be open from April 2 through May 14, and the results will be released in mid-September.
What are the benefits of participation?
Survey participants (Council membership not required) will receive a complimentary copy of the report in September, as well as access to Benchmark Central, the Council's dynamic online benchmarking tool to run deeper salary, benefits, and demographics comparisons by asset size, grants, geographic location, and grantmaker type. A preview of the benchmarking tool is available upon request.
Partnership opportunities are available for regional associations and affinity groups for access to regional benchmarking data. Special thanks to the Association of Baltimore Area Grantmakers, Colorado Association of Funders, Connecticut Council for Philanthropy, Council of Michigan Foundations, Forefront, Indiana Philanthropy Alliance, Philanthropy New York, Philanthropy Ohio, Philanthropy Southwest, and the Southeastern Council on Foundations for their partnership on the 2018 Survey. If your regional association or affinity group is not listed, please encourage them to contact us.
