Since 1980, the Council's Grantmaker Salary and Benefits Survey has provided the sector with the most comprehensive data on staff composition and compensation in the United States. Grantmakers rely on this annual report to plan budgets, benchmark personnel policies and practices, determine salary levels for new and existing staff, and more.
Your participation in the GSB survey is needed—the greater the participation, the greater the insights for the sector.
The 2021 Survey will field from March 1 through May 10, and the full report and key findings will be issued in September.
What are the benefits of participation?
Survey participants receive a complimentary copy of the full report, as well as access to Benchmark Central, the Council's dynamic online benchmarking tool where you can run deeper salary, benefits, and demographics comparisons by asset size, grants, geographic location, and grantmaker type.
How do I participate?
Council membership is not required to participate in the survey. Please designate one or more individuals from your team to represent your organization. Multiple individuals from the same organization can work on your submission simultaneously.
If you participated in a previous GSB Survey, go to Benchmark Central and log in using your cof.org credentials.
If you have never participated in a GSB Survey, please send your or any other individuals needing access first and last name, title, and email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
