Council Submits Comments on Chinese Overseas NGO Management Legislation

In response to requests for comments on the Chinese government’s draft Overseas NGO Management legislation, the Council worked with members and key partners to develop and send the following letter to Chinese officials on June 3rd, 2015. We look forward to continuing to monitor this legislation, the likely ensuing implementation process, and working with all of you on this and other issues impacting your ability to flow philanthropic dollars across borders. As this situation develops, the Council will continue to provide a space for our members to convene and discuss strategy for how we collectively address the implications of this legislation.

If you have questions or concerns about these comments or about cross-border philanthropy broadly, please contact the Council’s global philanthropy team, Natalie Ross and Lara Kalwinski

Read the submitted Comments and Addendum.
