Community foundations have long been an important membership constituency to the Council and we are forging important partnerships like this one with Kansas Association of Community Foundations (KACF) to ensure our rapidly growing community foundation membership is well served. When an excellent program or resource already exists, we will look to add our strength to a partner’s efforts rather than creating our own.
The Annual National Conference for Growing Community Foundations has itself been growing steadily in recent years reaching a loyal national audience of new and seasoned community foundation board and staff members who engage in practical training and develop the skills to effectively manage and lead small community foundations. We are thrilled to be working in partnership with KACF to bring this vital offering to our members.
The 2020 conference, which will take place virtually on October 26 – 27, focuses on “Sustainable Community for All” and features:
- more than 80 speakers,
- 33 concurrent sessions,
- 6 retreats,
- 3 plenaries,
- 6 deep dives, and
- several creative networking opportunities.
This partnership is an early step by the Council on Foundations and KACF to work together to better serve a growing network of small-staffed and volunteer-led community foundations in rural, small urban, and suburban America.
