Community Foundation Week (#CFWeek) is a prime opportunity to highlight the critical role of community philanthropy in supporting a thriving local community.
Created in 1989 by former President George H.W. Bush, Community Foundation Week recognizes the important work of community foundations throughout America and their collaborative and innovative approach to working with the public, private, and nonprofit sector. It coincides with National Philanthropy Day (sponsored by the Association of Fundraising Professionals), which is November 15.
As in years past, the Council on Foundations will promote #CFWeek through a variety of channels. We hope to work with you to elevate the important work of community foundations.
Together, let's raise awareness for the more than 795 community foundations across the United States that are making vital investments to their communities every single day!
