Charitable giving surged to $410 billion in 2017, the highest ever, according to Giving USA 2018: The Annual Report on Philanthropy for the Year 2017. Foundation grants for the year grew to $67 billion. But can the growth sustain itself and how will future giving be impacted by the new tax law? These questions and more were discussed in the webinar, as experts analyzed what the numbers mean for foundations and offered predictions on future charitable giving.

Speakers

Una O. Osili, Ph.D., is an economist with significant experience in research and policy in the fields of household behavior and economic policy.   She is also Associate Dean for Research and International Programs at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, the world’s first School dedicated to increasing the understanding of philanthropy and improving its practice worldwide.   

Laura MacDonald

Laura MacDonald, CFRE, president of the Benefactor Group and co-chair of the Giving USA Editorial Review Board, is a certified fundraising executive with more than 24 years’ experience in nonprofit leadership, fundraising, and philanthropy. She has served as the vice president and creative director of a national fundraising firm, chief development officer in arts and higher education, and as a key volunteer for community organizations.
