Led by Suzanne Friday, Senior Counsel and Ben McDearmon, Law Clerk, this workshop is designed to answer your broad legal questions on administering funds, grants, and community foundation activities.
The Council on Foundations is inviting executive staff of community foundations of various size, scope, and location to glean understanding from diverse viewpoints for an exchange of ideas to Seattle, WA to discuss ways we can strengthen communities across the United States and reinforce the collective effort of learning and growing together as a community foundation field.
With support from the Lumina Foundation, philanthropic and government leaders will come together to raise awareness about the social impact of structural racism while highlighting current efforts to dissolve and resolve racial conflict and disparity. Elected and appointed city, county, and state officials will join philanthropists in a panel discussion to identify how philanthropy and government can take actions that confront and dismantle structural racism.
This monthly call is for community foundations staff to connect with the National Standards staff and to ask questions related to the National Standards program.
Led by Bryan Del Rosario, Staff Counsel for the Council on Foundations, and Lindsay Mason, Director of Corporate Philanthropy, this workshop is organized to ensure common legal questions for administering grants, board governance and charitable giving activities are addressed. The sixth annual convening of any funders interested in foundation investments that support military veterans and families and lessons learned from post-9/11 community engagement strategies. The continuing challenges and the long term implications of veterans transition are discussed by these funders, and funders' roles in addressing these issues are dug into -- issues such as the impacts of the invisible wounds of war, employment and career pathways, community engagement strategies, and public policy issues driving the government's performance, investments, and services.
