The Council on Foundations and the Daniel and Barbara Chapman Trust today announced Opportunity Fund as the recipient of the 2019 Chapman Prize.
Bandera joins the Council following a long tenure with Council member organization, National Philanthropic Trust (NPT) where she helped shepherd the organization’s rapid growth over 13 years – serving as Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Administrative Officer and Treasurer. During this time, Bandera was influential in strategic direction and transformation of the organization’s operating model and structure to help grow NPT into one of the largest grantmaking institutions in the United States.

The Council on Foundations today announced that Lumina Foundation President and CEO Jamie Merisotis has assumed the role of Chair of the Board of Directors. Merisotis was elected in November 2018, and began his term as Board Chair at the Council’s Leading Together 2019 conference. He succeeds Javier Soto, who has served as Chair since 2017 and will remain on the board. Merisotis previously served as Board Vice Chair for two years.
