Russ Barratt is an award-winning technology specialist with more than 25 years of experience in information technology and multimedia production. Committed to the belief that the needs of an organization should determine how technology is used, as opposed to letting technology impact how an organization functions, he brings a unique customer-centric perspective to his work as an active partner with every team at the Council.
Before joining the Council in 2007, Russ spent 10 years as a senior technology consultant and trainer specializing in the effective use of data and Internet technologies by nonprofits. Prior to making the transition to the information technology field, he worked as an animator, editor, and producer on video and digital productions in the Baltimore/Washington region for clients such as McCormick, NASA, Lockheed Martin, Johns Hopkins University, and the Healthcare Financing Administration, to name a few. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, with a degree in Imaging and Digital Art.
Outside the Council, Russ dedicates much of his time to the ever-changing adventure that is fatherhood and enjoys pursuing low-tech interests such as cooking, reading, and travel.
