Jane Kim was born in Washington DC and raised in the suburbs of Virginia. She attended George Mason University where she received a BS in Accounting. Prior to joining the Council on Foundations, Jane worked as a staff accountant and budget analyst at Ocean Conservancy, a non-profit organization in DC dedicated to ocean advocacy, where she developed a passion and respect for managing funds in the non-profit sector. There, she provided ongoing budget analysis and support to foster sound financial management, worked closely with the development team to calculate and develop program budget proposals and reports, and supported her teammates with various general ledger maintenance. Before entering the finance and non-profit world, she facilitated security clearances for the Department of Justice and Department of Homeland Security at a government contracting firm.
Outside of work, Jane has a love for Cane Corsos and spent much of her free time fostering and transporting mastiffs for Cane Corso Rescue. She also loves music, plays the piano, violin, guitar and ukulele, and finds every opportunity to escape the city and into nature.
