Jessica Zar brings 20 years of program and grant management experience to her role advancing AbbVie and the AbbVie Foundation’s global philanthropic commitments. She works closely with incredible public and private foundation partners to build strategic, outcome-based programs aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals and AbbVie’s corporate social responsibility priorities. Jessica joined AbbVie from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), where she led national quality improvement initiatives dedicated to improving pediatric care and outcomes at a population level. She managed deployment of a national asthma registry and learning collaborative serving 600 clinicians and 40,000 children across multiple states, improving provision of optimal asthma care from 35% to 85%.

Prior to the AAP Jessica developed partnerships between the Chicago Public Schools, Housing Authority, Park District, Library, non-profit organizations and industry stakeholders to grow a relatively small pilot into a replicable, national model empowering underserved youth, now celebrated in over 60 schools.
