Luke Scuitto is the Development Associate for the Council on Foundations. Prior to joining the Council, Luke was the Senior Class Gift Coordinator at the George Washington University for the Class of 2018. During the course of the campaign, Luke organized various donor events, fundraisers, and challenges for the Class of 2018, eventually involving the President of the George Washington University. Before the coordinator position, Luke worked as a Development Intern at both the DC Center for the LGBT Community and Masjid Muhammad where he worked on grant writing as well as community outreach and donor engagement.
Luke is a part of Council on Foundations' DEI Advisory Group, which executes a series of internal and external events, policies, and procedures in the DEI space.
Luke holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the George Washington University in International Affairs from the Elliott School of International Affairs with a minor in History. Luke has lived in DC for the past four years, and is originally from Los Angeles, California. Luke’s interests include traveling, photography, and languages. During his time at GW, Luke managed to travel to over 22 countries participating in a variety of programs including Couchsurfing, a platform that connects locals wanting to share their culture with travelers. Luke also participated in the Confucius Institute’s Summer tour of China in 2017 and 2018 where he traveled to Nanjing, Xian, Beijing, and Chengdu to continue to learn Mandarin and Chinese culture. Luke’s love of languages flourished at GW, where he had the opportunity to study Arabic and concentrate in Middle East studies.
Upon graduating, Luke has been involved with Strive for College as an online mentor. Strive for College is an American nonprofit dedicated to "alleviating inequity in access to higher education".
