Pras Ranaweera is a Senior Program Officer on the K-12 education team at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. She was previously a Partner (Academic Strategy) at TNTP, a non-profit education consultancy, where she launched a school improvement network for a group of elementary and middle schools in Boston. Prior to that, Pras was Chief of Staff for Data & Accountability then Deputy Chief of Student Assessments at D.C. Public Schools. Pras also taught English in public secondary schools in Japan and Switzerland. Pras is a graduate of the Broad Residency in Urban Education and has a second Master’s Degree from King’s College, London. Pras was among the Council on Foundations's Career Pathways 2017 cohort. Pras lives in Washington, D.C.
