Tony Mestres is the President & CEO of Seattle Foundation. With more than $1 billion in assets, it is one of the largest community foundations in the country. Since joining Seattle Foundation in 2014, Tony has repositioned the Foundation as a voice for community needs and philanthropic strategies that create greater equity and opportunity for all. Tony directs the strategic counsel and support provided to more than 1,300 philanthropists and oversees the investment of strategic grants. He also oversees Seattle Foundation’s growing civic leadership work, which in 2018 earned the organization the Nonprofit of the Year Award from Seattle Business Magazine and the James Ellis Leadership Award from the Seattle Municipal League Foundation. Tony previously worked in technology and communications, including a 17 year-career at Microsoft, where he served as vice president of sales and marketing for the Windows product line. Tony is a graduate of Phillips Andover Academy and Dickinson College. He currently serves on the boards of the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, Seattle International Foundation, City Year Seattle/King County, Washington Roundtable and the national Council on Foundations.
