A native of California, Kim Bluitt resides in Santa Barbara. Her career roots begin in television production where she worked on the sitcom Living Single and talk show The Vicki Lawrence Show; and extend into admissions, alumni relations and annual fund development at Stanford University; corporate and foundation relations at California State University Channel Islands; and working with all ten University of California campuses to raise scholarship support for their Education Abroad Program.
She enjoys volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters, Special Olympics, on the alumni boards of her alma maters, Stanford and the University of Southern California, and with The Producing Unit, a non-profit created to produce cutting edge theatre and short film production in the Los Angeles and Santa Barbara areas. In her downtime you'll find her traveling, hiking, surfing, snapping photographs, or chasing the next adventure.
As a Network Manager for the west coast, Kim builds stronger connections between Council members, peer organizations and other philanthropic, public and private sector organizations. She works to better understand regional dynamics so the Council can be a more effective, collaborative network node; and facilitate more open, direct communication between the Council and its members.
You should contact Kim if you're on the West Coast and interested in getting to know the Council, learning about a variety of resources, sharing stories about how your work is impacting the philanthropic field, or providing feedback to Council to help shape ongoing programming.
