Kim Roque

Kimberly Roque is the Content Manager, Knowledge Center, at the Council on Foundations. Prior to joining the Council in 2010, Kim worked for a series of national public charities focused on children’s education and safety, and was excited to transition her expertise in support of the philanthropic sector. Kim served as Director of the National Mentoring Institute at MENTOR, managed external and volunteer efforts at the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, led the community development department at First Book, and was an AmeriCorps*VISTA in North Carolina. Kim launched the Campus Advisory Board network at First Book, the volunteer program and Take 25 initiative at NCMEC, and the MentorPRO online platform at MENTOR. Kim has special expertise in the areas of program start-up, research, community outreach, capacity building, and cause marketing. 

Kim is an alumna of Davidson College, where she majored in English literature, and of George Mason University, where she received a master’s of public administration with a concentration in nonprofit management. She is a volunteer with WV e-mentoring, the Arlington-Alexandria Coalition for the Homeless, and is a member of the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network-DC. She lives in Alexandria, Virginia, with her husband, daughter, dog, and two cats. She is passionate about volunteerism, running, gardening, and finding ways to avoid cooking.
