CF Insights Moves From Candid to Council on Foundations

WASHINGTON - The CF Insights benchmarking platform for community foundations will move from Candid to the Council on Foundations later this year, both organizations announced today. CF Insights is a resource built for community foundations looking to inform organizational strategy and practice through access to peer data, custom dashboard reports, and one-on-one support, and a platform for promoting a broader understanding of field-wide trends.

The move, which will connect CF Insights members to a larger network of community foundation members and resources at the Council, is expected to be completed by September 1. It follows months of exploration, informed by feedback from members and other key stakeholders.

“The decision to move CF Insights to the Council represents our shared commitment to the philanthropic sector,” said Ann Mei Chang, CEO of Candid. “Given the Council’s increased investment in their work with community foundations, we believe it is in a stronger position to get this valuable tool into the hands of more who can benefit from it. It’s been an honor to support CF Insights’ members over the past eight years, and we know their work will flourish with direct access to the Council’s robust and growing network of community foundations.”

Kathleen Enright, president and CEO of the Council, agreed.  “We’re excited to add CF Insights to our catalogue of tools to support community foundations,” Enright said. “Under Candid’s leadership since 2015, it has become an invaluable resource, and we look forward to building on their work to bring the field even better data and to help community foundations make more informed decisions.”

The Council was originally established by community foundations over 70 years ago, and community foundations continue to be the largest constituent group of the Council’s almost 900-member body. The organization’s programming for community foundations builds on this history and helps members access peer knowledge and build personal connections. The Council is proud to have a direct relationship via Council membership or National Standards accreditation with over 540 community foundations across the United States.

To ensure that CF Insights members have a seamless transition to the Council, David Rosado, who led the work at Candid, has joined the Council as Senior Advisor, Community Philanthropy, to continue his leadership of CF Insights activities.
