As Senior Advisor, Community Philanthropy, David will lead the full integration of CF Insights at the Council on Foundations and continue its expansion as a valuable knowledge-sharing platform among community foundations across the country. David will work to strengthen the Council’s portfolio of offerings for community foundations, and ensure that members get maximum value out of their engagement with CF Insights by helping them leverage benchmarking data and case studies to put them in the best position possible to sustainably serve their communities.

Prior to joining the Council, David worked at Candid (formerly Foundation Center) serving various roles, all in support of community foundations. He helped lead the transition of CF Insights from its original home at FSG, led the development of a new tool to assess community foundations’ engagement in efforts of community leadership, and oversaw a complete modernization of the CF Insights data platform. Most recently and while continuing to oversee CF Insights, David shaped Candid’s engagement strategy for the Funding Information Network, comprised of over 400 libraries, nonprofit resource centers, community foundations, and other organizations providing free access to fundraising tools and trainings to their local communities. He also co-led the Equitable Access team, formed to leverage Candid’s resources and networks to increase access to funding and resources among nonprofits led by or primarily serving members of historically marginalized communities.

David holds a B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Marketing from Brooklyn College, of the City University of New York. In his free time, David loves to read, discover new music, and go on adventures with his wife and two young children.
