In these unprecedented times, grantors may decide that converting previously awarded project-specific grants to general operating grants is the best way to support grantees and enable grantees to respond to the needs of their respective communities. While current grant agreements can be revised or amended, many project-specific grant agreements contain numerous restrictions and other language that may be inconsistent with the idea of a general support grant. Revising or amending such an agreement may be cumbersome and not ideal for the situation. Another option for grantors, is replacing the original project-specific grant agreement with a simpler general support that clearly states its intent to replace and supersede the project-specific grant agreement. Grantors are encouraged to edit this sample agreement to suit specific needs.
