Community Foundation Week 2023 Resources

Celebrating National Community Foundation Week November 12-18: Engage with Your Local Community Today!

Community Foundation Week, created in 1989 by former president George H.W. Bush, recognizes the important work of community foundations throughout America and their collaborative and innovative approach to working with the public, private, and nonprofit sector. Annually, Community Foundation Week coincides with National Philanthropy Day on November 15.

Help raise awareness by telling your community about the work that your foundation is doing to address persistent civic and economic challenges during the week following National Philanthropy Day with social media campaigns, local storytelling in partnership with media outlets, and various other creative ways to engage around the importance of community philanthropy and your foundation the week of November 12-18.

To help support your work, the Council has designed a series of resources to assist you with outreach and awareness, including a draft press release, a draft op-ed, sample social media messages, web and social graphics as well as general facts about community foundations.
