As Chief Operating Officer, Margaret leads the Council’s finance, technology and operations teams including human resources, membership and development. Margaret brings over 25 years of finance, investment and leadership experience to her role, with a background combining business, technology and philanthropy.
Before joining the Council, Margaret spent thirteen years as the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer at National Philanthropic Trust (NPT). Here she was influential in strategic direction and transformation of the organization's operating model and structure to help grow NPT into one of the largest grantmaking institutions in the United States and oversaw the administration of over $6B in investments and grants, led financial and operational strategy and execution, and served as Treasurer for several philanthropic organizations. Prior to NPT, Margaret held senior finance roles in the education and government sectors and financial services.
She began her career in Canada as an analyst in corporate finance at Exxon Mobil. Margaret has been recognized as CFO of the Year by the Philadelphia Business Journal and was named a Fellow of the prestigious Leadership Philadelphia program. Margaret enjoys international travel and exploring National Parks with her husband.
