Ruth LaToison Ifill is the Council’s Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Ruth has worked in and provided consult for leaders and organizations in various industries: secondary and higher education, local and national nonprofit, federal government and faith-based. Ruth, a military spouse, joined Goodwill Industries International (GII) in 2013, leading a $5M national initiative to reskill and retrain veterans and put them back to work quickly in growing industries with family-sustaining careers. While managing that national program, Ruth also led Goodwill’s cross departmental strategic initiative to grow and retain talent by creating a culture of learning and diversity.
Ruth prides herself on discovering, analyzing, executing and coaching through her three guiding principles of clarity, learning, and integrity. Ruth holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Howard University, a Masters in Organizational Development from Trinity Washington University, and diversity professionalcertification from the Institute of Diversity Certification. Additionally, Ruth is currently matriculating in The George Washington University’s Executive Leadership Program in Human and Organizational Learning.
When Ruth is not helping teams and organizations to improve, she takes much pride and pleasure in spending time with her husband and two children (Annalise – 9 and London – 6), traveling, hiking, trying new foods and restaurants, going to the movies and volunteering with a local nonprofit that delivers music experiences, lessons and opportunities for inner city youth.
