Sara Finocchio is Development Associate at the Council on Foundations. Sara assists the Director of Development in supporting the Council’s revenue generation/donor cultivation and stewardship activities. Sara gained experience working in development at a small education nonprofit in D.C. where her responsibilities included researching, writing and submitting grant proposals, reports and letters to funders, as well as maintaining all the organization’s digital platforms. Sara graduated from the University of Georgia with her B.A. in international affairs in 2012 and received her M.A. in public administration from Cornell University in 2016. Sara knew she wanted a career working in the nonprofit sector after her experiences working as an intern at The Carter Center in Atlanta, the Clinton Global Initiative in New York City, and DC Central Kitchen in Washington, D.C.
In her spare time, Sara enjoys cooking and baking, binge watching thought-provoking TV series, practicing yoga, and exploring the D.C. metro area, and all it has to offer, with her 12-year-old son.
