Serena is the Associate Director of Public Policy for the Council. She works to enhance the understanding of philanthropy and the implications of policy on charitable giving through education and advocacy.
Serena holds a B.A. in Public Affairs from The Ohio State University, and a Master of Public Affairs with a focus in nonprofits and philanthropy from Indiana University. She has a background in higher education development and administration—working in the Presidents’ Offices at both Ohio State and Indiana. During her tenure as a graduate student, Serena was involved with multiple volunteer consulting projects for various nonprofit organizations and community foundations—for which she was recognized for her commitment to community engagement and exceptional quality of work.
As a Cleveland native, and a member of a large and proud Polish family, Serena was raised on pierogi and Cleveland Sports. She is a die-hard, unapologetic Buckeyes fan, and spent most of her years growing up at dance classes and competitions. These days, you can find her being active or enjoying DC with friends.
You should contact Serena about legislation or policies that impact your work or the sector at large, or if you would like to strengthen your advocacy initiatives.
