Joshua Frazier-Sparks

Kentucky native Josh Frazier-Sparks is a proven thought leader and change agent. After earning a Bachelor of Arts from Berea College, he was selected for the 2008 Teach for America—New Mexico Corps where he taught middle school science to a diverse, economically underserved population. Later, Josh returned to Kentucky and became Executive Director of Teach for America—Appalachia. Through his efforts, Kentucky created a permanent pathway to nontraditional teacher certification with a dedicated funding stream. Josh also developed a teacher training program that delivers measurable student outcomes. He went on to earn a Masters of Education from the University of Kentucky where he is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Organizational Leadership. Now living in Northwest Arkansas, Josh is a leader at the Walmart Foundation where he co-manages the Company’s retail opportunity portfolio. His work focuses on improving skill acquisition and mobility for the incumbent front-line service sector workforce.
