Stephanie Randolph

At Cassiopeia, Stephanie drives social change through investments that bring positive environmental and social impacts in addition to financial returns. She works to build mutually beneficial relationships that increase local wealth and power. With twenty years of experience in the coalfields of Central Appalachia she has a unique perspective on rural poverty and it’s “resource curse.” Coalfield communities have awakened and are embracing opportunities to build new, locally driven, economic opportunity. But these new markets face unique capacity and capital challenges. Working with the Appalachia Funders Network, Stephanie has developed “Impact Appalachia” a market-making fund to accelerate economic opportunity a six-state region. This systems level collective will balance and blend a $17 million pool of catalytic capital to unlock and deploy a $40 million investment fund. Working closely community leaders and multi-sector partners Impact Appalachia will provide tailored capital stacks to enterprises and community investments that build long-term economic self-sufficiency.
