Tahira Christmon

Tahira Christmon is the Council’s former Membership Director, charged with strategizing retention and recruitment of Council members.  With a 15 year career in business development, change management, and strategic communications, she has unique expertise in developing creative and strategic allegiances and cross-functional constituencies to influence stakeholder behavior. Tahira is fiercely committed to creating strategies that prioritize capacity building, mission services, and innovation to advance the common good. 

Prior to joining the Council, Tahira led member experience and relations at Goodwill Industries International, a nonprofit social enterprise committed to eliminating barriers to employment through education, skills training, and the power of work. Prior to joining Goodwill she was a television news reporter for a local news affiliate. 

Wife and momma of two young boys, Tahira enjoys being the only woman in the house. When she’s not changing diapers or teaching a kid how to ride a bike, she sneaks in quiet time to read, eat all the spicy foods her kids hate, and catch up on Netflix.
